SUSTAINABLE DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION PROJECT – Certificated program –

Architects and Interior Designers possess incredible leverage to address the impacts of Climate Change. Their designs can decarbonize the built environment and help communities progress towards adaptability and a more resilient future! Similarly, employment prospects in Architecture and Interior Design throughout the world and specifically within the Danube Region are increasingly better for people fluent in climate change mitigation and carbon negative design strategies.

As a result of the rapidly growing market for green building sector certifications and code compliance documentation, educational resources must adapt to meet the needs of the marketplace and to keep pace with these new sustainable technologies and advancements.

Through a unique educational partnership between College of the Canyons in California & Spiru Haret University, an online certificate program will be offered starting this Fall for motivated students & professionals pursuing a career in Sustainable Design & Development.

ABOUT LEED GREEN

Sustainably designed (Green) buildings continue to be the fastest-growing sector of the construction industry in the United States.

This growth can be attributed, in part, to third-party voluntary certification systems such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), which have gained tremendous momentum over the past decade.

LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership, being the most used evaluation system of green buildings in the world.

LEED professional accreditation as “demonstrate current knowledge of green building technologies, best practices” and the LEED rating system, to assure the holder’s competency as one of “the most qualified, educated, and influential green building professionals in the marketplace.”
