The European research project Agroecology-TRANSECT it is a project whose general objective is to contribute to the full affirmation of the potential of agroecology for European agriculture, by strengthening the knowledge base for farmers, advisors and authorities and supporting decision makers by developing strong evidence of the positive effects of agroecology in mitigating climate change.
The project supports the impact of agroecology on biodiversity and the potential to improve the socio-economic resilience of farms, through optimal combinations of practices and aims to obtain qualitative/quantitative data on agroecology, strategies that contribute to a transparent knowledge base for the development and implementation of European support mechanisms.
Agroecology-TRANSECT’s ambition is to grow our understanding of a wide range of agroecological farming practices so that we can increase their uptake by European farmers.
